Roma is the capital city of Italy and was founded on the 21 st of April 753 B.C. acording to the calculations of Varro.

The birth place of Roma is reputed to be the Capitolino or Capitoline hill. This is the smallest of the seven hills of Rome but is considered to be the most important. In the present day, most of the Capitoline is obscurred by the Monumento a Vittorio Emanuelle II which dominates Piazza Venezia.

How to get there.

Fly with Ryanair from Prestwick Glasgow airport to Ciampino, then catch a Terravision bus from the front of the airport, to Termini railway station. There is a taxi rank located here. Ensure you take a taxi with the local council registration plate and avoid offers from other unregulated drivers.
