Andrew Farris of INXS produced GUN's last album, to date. A&M, asked for a different sound and the resultant album 0141 632 6326 (also a phone number fans could call for info on GUN) lived up to this request. Andrew took the Rankin, Gizzi and Gizzi efforts and turned them on their heads. Demos of the tracks were pure GUN, heavy and rocking but the Aussie added a 'funkier' feel. This didn't impress the loyal fans and the album didn't sell as well as it's predecessors. |

The Gizzi brothers, along with Mark Rankin were still there but Mark Kerr was gone. His replacement was his name sake, Stuart Kerr, the ex-Texas drummer. Stuart played with the lads at their live gigs until they decided to split in September 1997. Since then, the band have played a couple of 'one off' gigs, one in Portugal and at the 'Scotland Rocks for Kosovo', fund raiser in May 1999. They have also played a charity gig in January 2008, with Toby Jepson on guest vocals, at The Garage in Glasgow for the Nordoff Robins charity. The Gizzi brothers now run an Italian restaurant, along with brother Mario ("a wizard with the pots and pans"), in Cambridge Street Glasgow and formed a new band called 'El Presidente' which was active from 2002 until 2007. Mark Rankin is now working for Mercury Records in London. As of April 2008, Jools and Dante have teamed up again with original GUN drummer Alan Thornton and recruited ex Little Angels vocalist Toby Jepson to once again take the world by storm as GUN return! |
