This is the
last Festival update for 2004. The Festival
received a report in the local paper, together with a
picture of the Oslo Caledonian Pipe Band at the
Pillarguri Statue. Click on the newspaper link for

27th August
We have
started a Festival
Diary as we are receiving daily reports from Ragnar
Moe, and have also added a report from Chris Maile, our
Clan Representative in Norway with photographs of his
tribute at George Sinclair's Grave at Kvam on behalf of
the Clan.
24th August 2004
This year's festival starts tomorrow with the
traditional Whisky Tasting by Sinclair's Club Member,
Chris Maile.
This year's Pillarguri Prizewinner is Shabana Rehman,
and the Prizewinner's Dinner is on Thursday, 26th, the
392nd Anniversary of the Battle of Kringen. The

3rd August 2004
This year's festival - 26-29 August - will include
performances by Bill & Mollie Sinclair. The Oslo
Caledonian Pipes and Drums
will be present again this year, and is supported by
The
Caledonian Society of Norway, including the St.
Andrews Society in Trondheim.
We support
the Campaign to
Save the Scottish Regiments
Only 4 of the 6 current Scottish Infantry Regiments remain un-merged
and now they are all to be merged into one or two "super"
regiments and one Regiment is to go completely. When they are
gone, they will be lost forever. These are the
descendents of the soldiers who fought at Kringen.
They fought for us...

Pillarguri Days 2003
The
festival in Otta starts tomorrow with the Prizewinner's
Dinner at the Norlandia Otta Hotel. This year's
Prizewinner is a truly modern Norwegian Pillarguri,
Olympic Gold Medallist, Kari Traa!

Sami
Artist Mari Boine, this year's Prizewinner
The Pillarguri Days outline programme for 23-25 August
2002 has been announced by the Committee. This
year's Prizewinner is the famous Sami Artist, Mari Boine.
In addition, Olympic Gold Medallist, Kari Traa, will
perform a trampoline show with Sinclair's Club's Chris
Maile. See PGD

Study Centre.

Members of the Committee attended Lord Berriedale's
Birthday Celebrations in Caithness in May 2002, the
occasion of a small Gathering of Clan Sinclair at the
command of the Chief, The Rt Hon The Earl of Caithness
PC.
August
2001
During
the 2001 PGD The Rt Hon The Earl of Caithness PC, Chief
of Clan Sinclair, and Arne Mælland, sculptor of the
Pillarguri Statue and the Stone Cutter in Otta's park,
were made welcome as new members of Sinclair's Club.
